But before departing for the Czech Republic, he stopped by <em>The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/em> for an interview segment and a performance of the <em>There Goes Rhymin\u2019 Simon<\/em> deep cut \u201cSomething So Right,\u201d which he last played in 1993 during his Concert of a Lifetime residency at the Paramount Theater in New York City.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u201cSomething So Right\u201d - Paul Simon (LIVE on The Late Show)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WrV6sMUeiSg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDuring the interview, Simon looked back at his time as a folk singer in England in the Sixties, prior to the breakthrough success of Simon and Garfunkel. \u201cIt had a tremendous effect on my music,\u201d he said. \u201cThat culture, the English\/Celtic\u2026I love that music, fell in love with that music. Here I would have heard it in the sounds of the Everly Brothers, but there you hear the origins of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tSimon moved back to America in 1965 once the \u201cSounds of Silence\u201d started to climb the charts thanks to a new folk-rock rendition that Columbia producer Tom Wilson put together the very day he recorded \u201cLike a Rolling Stone\u201d with Bob Dylan. As Simon explained to Colbert, he heard from Art Garfunkel that the song had entered the very bottom of the Cashbox singles chart. I quickly go, \u2018Good, it\u2019s not there. Now, 80 to 70, not there. Okay, that could be good.\u2019 Now I go one at a time 70, 69. 68\u2026 And I go, \u2018Oh my God.\u2019\u00a0 There it is at 59. And over 60 years later, \u201cThe Sounds of Silence\u201d remains a key part of his live show. It was the final encore most every night of his 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/paul-simon-concert-review-new-york-1235366135\/\">A Quiet Celebration tour,<\/a> which was his first outing since 2018\u2019s Homeward Bound \u2013 The Farewell tour. If he sticks to the script from last year for the upcoming dates, he\u2019ll perform his 2023 LP <em>Seven Psalms<\/em> straight through prior to a second set of hits and rarities, including \u201cHomeward Bound,\u201d \u201cTrain in the Distance,\u201d \u201cGraceland,\u201d and \u201cMe and Julio Down By the Schoolyard.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe U.S. leg of the tour begins June 4 in Palo Alto, California, and wraps up July 18 in Highland Park, Illinois.
