His prior solo appearances on the late night show were in 2012, 2018, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/jack-white-eddie-van-halen-tribute-snl-1073915\/\">October 2020<\/a>, when he played a guitar designed for him by Eddie Van Halen, who had died earlier that week.
