\n\tWireless Festival<\/a>, the music fest set to take place this summer in London\u2019s Finsbury Park neighborhood, will no longer happen now that the country has denied headliner Kanye West a visa<\/a>. \u201cAs a result of the Home Office banning YE from entering the United Kingdom, Wireless Festival has been forced to cancel,\u201d a note on the fest\u2019s social media said. \u201cAll ticket holders will receive an automatic full refund.\u201d The government decided that an appearance by West, who has made multiple antisemitic statements<\/a>\u00a0in recent years, would not benefit the public good, the BBC<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

\n\tWireless Festival was to take place from July 10 \u2013 12. West, who last performed in the U.K. 11 years ago, was scheduled to headline all three nights of the festival. No other acts had been announced, but a bespoke YeWireless.com website<\/a> was created to collect info for presales, which began Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tReps for West and Wireless Festival did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone\u2019s <\/em>requests for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tWest launched an apology tour for his past behavior in January with a full-page Wall Street Journal <\/em>ad. \u201cI owe a huge apology once again for everything that I said that hurt the Jewish and Black communities in particular,\u201d it said. \u201cAll of it went too far.\u201d The ad was meant to clear the way for a comeback, paving the way for West\u2019s Bully<\/a><\/em> album, which came out in March. \u201cIn a way, it is his most human album to date, inasmuch as it proves that even stars as bright as Ye begin to dim with time,\u201d Rolling Stone <\/em>wrote in a review. Despite a lack of quality and West\u2019s questionable behavior, the album debuted at Number Two on Billboard<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn April 2, West attempted a comeback Los Angeles comeback concert, a performance that Rolling Stone <\/em>noted was filled with hiccups<\/a>. He also planned concerts in Mexico and France.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Wireless Festival was announced, London Mayor Sadiq Khan denounced West\u2019s headlining role. \u201cWe are clear that the past comments and actions of this artist are offensive and wrong, and are simply not reflective of London\u2019s values,\u201d a spokesperson for Khan told Rolling Stone<\/a> <\/em>on April 1. The booking also prompted outcry from the Jewish Leadership Council, singer-actor Benjamin Haim-Isaac, and actor David Schwimmer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tMelvin Benn, who runs the Wireless Festival, called West\u2019s antisemitism \u201cabhorrent\u201d but asked those who were upset to \u201coffer some forgiveness.\u201d West subsequently offered to meet with London\u2019s Jewish community. \u201cIf you\u2019re open, I\u2019m here,\u201d he said in a statement.
