Reba McEntire<\/a>‘s mother, Jacqueline McEntire, lived a quiet life outside of the spotlight for the most part. But did you know she once appeared in a guest role on her famous daughter’s sitcom, Reba<\/em>?<\/p>\n

What Reba<\/em> Episode Did Reba McEntire’s Mom Act In?<\/h3>\n

According to IMDb<\/a>, the year was 2005, and the elder McEntire appeared on Reba<\/em> in Season 4, Episode 17, titled “The Pageant of Grandmas,” in a role credited as “Grandma Lauren.”<\/p>\n

“Jake’s school is holding a beauty pageant\u00a0\u2014 with grandmothers! Jake asks Reba, but of course Barbra Jean wants to also do it,” IMDb describes the episode<\/a>. “Jake really wants his mother in, so both are in. On the day of the pageant, they find out only one can be in it.”<\/p>\n

The episode aired on April 8, 2005.<\/p>\n

Reba McEntire turned to social media\u00a0in\u00a0August 2024 to share a clip from the episode, writing, “Did y\u2019all know my Mama made a cameo on the Reba show in our fourth season? I still get a kick out of this!”<\/p>\n

Jacqueline McEntire appears in a small role with no dialogue, but it’s a memorable moment, as her character offers up a hilarious assessment after Reba asks her who’s really the “hotter” grandmother:<\/p>\n

Jacqueline McEntire was a singer herself, and she taught her kids to sing, but devoted her life to teaching.<\/p>\n

Reba was set to follow her into that profession before she scored her record deal.<\/p>\n

When Did Reba McEntire’s Mom Die?<\/h3>\n

Jacqueline McEntire died in March of 2020<\/a> at the age of 93 after battling cancer. Reba turned to social media to remember her, writing that she had “a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go.”<\/p>\n

McEntire paid tribute to her beloved mother in a song titled “You Never Gave Up on Me<\/a>,” which appeared on her 2019 album, Stronger Than the Truth<\/em>.<\/p>\n
