The judge found that Williams qualified for detention because the charges involve the alleged use of a firearm and carry a potential sentence of life in prison. The court also found that Williams was on home detention at the time of the alleged incident and did not have permission to be in Dallas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cBased on the credible evidence presented at the hearing, the court finds probable cause to believe that defendant committed the law violations alleged in the criminal complaint,\u201d U.S. Magistrate Judge Ren\u00e9e Harris Toliver wrote in the order. \u201cThe court finds that there is no condition or combination of conditions the court can impose in this case which will reasonably assure defendant\u2019s appearance as required or the safety of the community or another person if released.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAfter the hearing, Williams\u2019s longtime defense lawyer, Bradford Cohen, told <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/video\/fmc-lt5b4beejcwjoelw\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/video\/fmc-lt5b4beejcwjoelw\">Fox 4 News <\/a>that he found it \u201cfascinating\u201d that federal prosecutors took three months to bring charges. He said the delay suggested investigators had reservations about what occurred inside the studio on Jan. 10, 2026, describing early witness statements as \u201cvery questionable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cThe FBI doesn\u2019t take three months to arrest someone if they believe everything that was said,\u201d Cohen said. \u201cThere is no contract, this mystery contract. They have none of that physical evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tWilliams was charged in a criminal complaint unsealed last week and obtained by <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>. Prosecutors say he arranged the meeting in Dallas after becoming upset with the terms of his recording contract. With the weapon pointed at him, Davis was forced to state that he \u201creleased\u201d Williams from the agreement, the complaint says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tProsecutors further allege that Williams took Davis\u2019s wedding ring, watch, earrings, and cash, while Wright blocked the exit, trapping multiple people inside the studio as they were robbed of Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, a Louis Vuitton bag, and a wallet fitted with an Apple AirTag. One victim was \u201cchoked from behind to the point of nearly losing consciousness,\u201d according to the complaint, which includes photographs showing scratches on the man\u2019s neck and wrist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tInvestigators say one co-defendant, Terrance Rodgers, later posted a video on social media wearing what they identified as a Rolex taken in the robbery. Williams was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/pooh-shiesty-released-from-federal-prison-1235442187\/\">released early from prison last October<\/a> after serving three years of a five-year sentence <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/pooh-shiesty-sentenced-five-years-prison-florida-gun-case-1340641\/\">for a gun charge<\/a> out of Miami. In that case, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/pooh-shiesty-pleads-guilty-gun-charge-avoids-threat-life-sentence-1278103\/\">he pleaded guilty<\/a> to conspiring to possess a firearm in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking.
