Trace Adkins<\/a> is one of country music’s most colorful performers, but he set his roughneck image aside in 2008 for a guest role on the long-running soap opera, The Young and the Restless<\/em>, which aired on April 9, 2008.<\/p>\n Adkins played himself in the segment, turning up to serenade two of the show’s stars with his then-current hit single, “You’re Gonna Miss This.”<\/p>\n The song hit No. 1 just days later, on April 12, and held the top spot for two weeks.<\/p>\n Written by Ashley Gorley and Lee Thomas Miller, the song depicts various moments from the female protagonist’s life, assuring, “You’re gonna miss this \/ You’re gonna want this back \/ You’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast \/ These are some good times \/ So take a good look around \/ You may not know it now \/ But you’re gonna miss this.”<\/em><\/p>\n Adkins is no stranger to the small screen.
