\n\tViolet Grohl<\/a> knows the world considers her a nepo baby, thanks to her dad Dave Grohl<\/a> of Foo Fighters and Nirvana fame, but she doesn\u2019t let the label hurt her feelings.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cObviously, doors are open for me because of my last name,\u201d the 19-year-old rising singer-songwriter told The Forty-Five<\/em><\/a> in a new interview. \u201cIt\u2019s not something I\u2019m ever going to hide behind or say, \u2018No, I worked so hard for this! You guys shouldn\u2019t say that! That hurts my feelings.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI don\u2019t care, I really don\u2019t,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019ve heard that since I was 13 years old. So call me a nepo baby all you want. It\u2019s \u2018whatever\u2019 to me. I just hope that eventually people will give me a shot.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tGrohl, the eldest daughter of Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn Blum, is gearing up for the release of her debut album, Be Sweet to Me<\/a>, <\/em>which drops May 29. Last month, she shared the single \u201c595\u201d and an accompanying music video directed by Nikki Milan Houston.<\/p>\n \n\tThe forthcoming album, recorded across 2024 and 2025, is inspired by alternative rock from the late \u201880s and early \u201890s, including the Pixies, Soundgarden, Cocteau Twins, and the Breeders.<\/p>\n \n\tGrohl said she wanted to draw on a sound she grew up with. \u201cThere\u2019s something so powerful about that period of music, from the messaging to the visuals, it\u2019s authentic and raw,\u201d she said in a statement announcing the album.\u00a0<\/p>\n
