\n\tIf there\u2019s a list of things to know about Lucy Dacus<\/a>, high on the list is her admiration for Bruce Springsteen<\/a>. And on Friday, she shared that she was able to introduce her dad, a major fan,\u00a0to The Boss.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI have fulfilled my purpose,\u201d Dacus wrote on Instagram, including a photo of the trio backstage at Springsteen\u2019s recent concert in Los Angeles. \u201cNeeded to let y\u2019all know because I knooow at least thousands of you have personally met my dad at shows and have some idea of what this means to him, and me. I may have made you sing him happy birthday, or you\u2019ve seen him come up on stage to play \u201cDancing in the Dark\u201d on guitar, or wished him a Happy Father\u2019s Day with me.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI\u2019m always trying to find ways to delight this little guy, but I\u2019ll never do better than this,\u201d Dacus added. \u201cI\u2019ll always respect him and be grateful he took the time to shake my dad\u2019s hand.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tDacus has been a lifelong Springsteen fan,\u00a0first meeting the New Jersey icon in 2024. She shared that \u201chis songs are as integral to me as the trees I grew up around\u201d and that \u201cI wouldn\u2019t write music the same way without him, maybe wouldn\u2019t write music at all.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tIn September 2019, Dacus honored Springsteen and gave her dad a birthday gift in the form of a searing cover of the iconic \u201cDancing in the Dark.\u201d<\/a> That year, she declared to Rolling Stone<\/em> that \u201cBruce\u2019s birthday should be a national holiday\u201d and \u201cit definitely is in the Dacus household.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
