A ring of a doorbell ushered in the surprise guests during the artist’s set on Friday<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\tIt was clear from the first ring of a doorbell from the Coachella<\/a> stage that Teddy Swims<\/a> got the memo: Make your set extra special, and it will be what the audience walks away talking about at the end of the night, even if you\u2019re one of the early sets on the main stage. Swims\u2019 stage production was made to look like a dynamic recreation of an apartment, complete with a bedroom, garage, living room, and yes, a front door: three songs in, that doorbell rang for the first time, and Swims brought Joe Jonas<\/a> out to sing the country-flavored Jonas Brothers ballad \u201cWhen You Look Me in the Eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIt was really just the start, though, of an outstanding set that would have been stellar even without the slew of guests Swims welcomed. Swims\u2019 songs themselves run the gamut from Foster the People-coded indie pop (the opener, \u201cThe Door\u201d) to slow-burn ballads (\u201cBad Dreams\u201d) to faux hard rock (\u201cYou\u2019ve Got Another Thing Coming\u201d \u2014 not the Judas Priest song, but a Swims original.)<\/p>\n
