Zach Top<\/a> had about the same reaction to meeting the king of country, George Strait<\/a>, as you or I would if given the chance to shake his hand.<\/p>\n

The “South of Sanity” singer was a guest on Taste of Country Nights<\/em><\/a> and he told me about the time he came face-to-face with Strait and almost melted into a fanboy\u00a0right then and there.<\/p>\n

“I saw him when I went and played his golf tournament, he’s got a charity golf tournament and they invited me down there to play a little music and be in the golf tournament,” Top said.<\/p>\n

Top said he saw Strait before Strait saw him. “I don’t think he’s got a clue who I am. I just went up to him and I was like ‘Hey man I don’t wanna bother you, you’re the first reason why I wanted to play guitar and sing and it’s just an honor to meet you.'”<\/p>\n

He says that he “kept it short and simple because I didn’t want to wear him out, because I can sure fangirl pretty hard on George Strait.”<\/p>\n

Does George Strait Know Who Zach Top Is?<\/h3>\n

Top didn’t think so, but he was in for an awakening.<\/p>\n

He said that when he \u201cdid get to shake George Strait\u2019s hand down in San Antonio,\u201d Strait later invited him onstage that evening, where he got to \u201cgo up and sing a few of my songs with his band, which was wild.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What Did Zach Top Call George Strait When He Met Him?<\/h3>\n

I had to ask if he referred to him as George or Mr. Strait.<\/p>\n

“I can’t remember if I called him Mr. Strait or if I said hey George, or whatever,” he said.<\/p>\n

George Strait has sold his one-of-a-kind mansion in Texas, and it was actually a real deal. The country legend asked $6.9 million for his 7,925-square-foot home that includes three bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half-baths on a hilltop in a very exclusive area of San Antonio. The final selling price was not disclosed.<\/p>\n

The house sits on 12.2 acres and includes a gourmet kitchen, separate his and her bathrooms and closets and 14 hand-sculpted masonry fireplaces. The main house is wired for surround sound throughout, and it also features outdoor living spaces including a patio with built-in grill, sink, icemaker and refrigerator. There’s also an infinity pool\/spa and a sports court, a workout room with a private bathroom and sauna, and a walk-in safe room.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
