{"id":62720,"date":"2026-04-17T16:56:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T16:56:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/17\/david-lee-roth-brings-back-rare-van-halen-gem-on-opening-night\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T16:56:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T16:56:29","slug":"david-lee-roth-brings-back-rare-van-halen-gem-on-opening-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2026\/04\/17\/david-lee-roth-brings-back-rare-van-halen-gem-on-opening-night\/","title":{"rendered":"David Lee Roth Brings Back Rare Van Halen Gem on Opening Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/david-lee-roth\/\">David Lee Roth<\/a> kicked off his 2026 tour by breaking out a song from <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/van-halen\/\">Van Halen<\/a>&#8216;s debut album that he hadn&#8217;t performed live in nearly 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>Diamond Dave and his increasingly large band &#8211; he&#8217;s up to five backing singers now &#8211; hit the stage with a hard-hitting opening volley of &#8220;Panama,&#8221; &#8220;Drop Dead Legs&#8221; and &#8220;Romeo Delight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then he downshifted a bit with &#8220;Little Dreamer,&#8221; a slow-burning semi-ballad from 1978&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/van-halens-debut-track-by-track\/\"><em>Van Halen<\/em><\/a>. According to SetList.fm it was the first time Roth had performed the song as a solo artist since 2003. His tour &#8211; apparently named Don&#8217;t Love Me, Rent Me &#8211; is currently scheduled to conclude June 20 in Milwaukee.
