\n\tNancy Sinatra<\/a> criticized Donald Trump<\/a> for posting a video of her father Frank Sinatra<\/a> performing his 1969 song \u201cMy Way\u201d\u00a0on Truth Social over the weekend. <\/p>\n

\n\tOn Saturday, the president inexplicably posted a clip<\/a> of Sinatra singing the iconic tune at Madison Square Garden in 1974. One of Sinatra\u2019s fans brought it to her attention on X, writing, \u201cOmg, @NancySinatra will not be happy about this. Trump goes against everything that Frank stood for. He was a big champion for equality and supported the Civil Rights movement.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tSinatra responded, \u201cThis is a sacrilege.\u201d After another fan asked if there was anything she could do to prevent Trump posting the song she replied, \u201cUnfortunately no. The only people who can do something are the publishers.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tFrank Sinatra recorded \u201cMy Way\u201d in 1969. It is an English-language adaptation of a French song, \u201cComme d\u2019habitude,\u201d which was written by written by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut, and Claude Fran\u00e7ois. The English version was written by Paul Anka. This means that the song\u2019s publishers, Because Music and Primary Wave Music Publishing, hold the rights, not the Sinatra family. Over the years, \u201cMy Way\u201d has also been performed by Elvis Presley and Sid Vicious.<\/p>\n
