T<\/p>\n<p>he color purple, which has followed him through life and death, is taken from &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/diffuser.fm\/prince-purple-rain-song\/\">Purple Rain<\/a>&#8221; \u2014 the title song he wrote for the 1984 semi-autobiographical film that marked his acting debut. It was\u00a0not only a hit, but became a defining song for the musician.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read More: <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/prince-purple-rain-covers\/\">How the Rock World Mourned Prince With &#8216;Purple Rain&#8217; Covers<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Within hours of his <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/prince-dead\/\">death<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/prince-concert-covers\/\">tributes<\/a> proliferated.\u00a0Prince&#8217;s friends and fans went into mourning, but his stardom and influence went a lot further.
