Newport Jazz Festival returns to Rhode Island for a 72nd edition this summer, and today, the annual event confirmed which artists will be tuning up. Highlights across this year\u2019s lineup include Little Simz<\/a>, Angine de Poitrine<\/a>, Herbie Hancock<\/a>, Thundercat<\/a>, Gary Clark Jr.<\/a>, Flea<\/a> and his Honora Band, Gena<\/a>, Arlo Parks<\/a>, and Anoushka Shankar<\/a>.<\/p>\n Elsewhere on the bill, Kamasi Washington<\/a>, trumpeter Chief Adjuah, and others will present a show in celebration of John Coltrane<\/a> and Miles Davis<\/a>\u2019 100th birthdays. Robert Glasper<\/a> is also set to perform alongside Bilal<\/a> and Ari Lennox<\/a>, while Jon Batiste<\/a> will perform with his Jonathan Batiste Trio, which features Joe Saylor on drums and Phil Kuehn on bass.
