\n\tLizzo<\/a> is finally ready to release her new album, with the pop star revealing that her fifth LP, Bitch<\/em>, will arrive on June 5.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Instagram, Lizzo<\/a> shared the album title and release date, as well as the cover art: A hand flipping a middle finger, though the offending digit has been replaced by an ebullient photo of Lizzo raising her hands with a big smile on her face. \u201cHappy birthday to me!\u201d Lizzo wrote in the caption, because today (April 27), is indeed her birthday. \u201cWanna get me a gift? Pre-order my album baby!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLizzo also revealed the track list for Bitch<\/em>, though there aren\u2019t any other details yet regarding collaborators or possible features. Bitch <\/em>marks Lizzo\u2019s first proper solo album in four years, following 2022\u2019s Special<\/a><\/em>, as well as her 2025 mixtape, My Face Hurts from Smiling<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tBitch <\/em>will notably arrive in the place of Love in Real Life<\/em>, the album Lizzo first announced<\/a> back in February 2025. At the time, Lizzo released a pair of singles \u2014 the title-track and \u201cStill Bad\u201d<\/a> \u2014 and performed a third unreleased song \u201cDon\u2019t Make Me You Love U\u201d on Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>. But the singles faced heavy criticism<\/a> and failed to make a dent on the charts, and the album was never released.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a big New York Magazine<\/a> <\/em>profile last year, Lizzo expressed some discontent with the early singles, calling \u201cStill Bad\u201d \u201coverproduced\u201d and \u201coverthought,\u201d and noting it and \u201cLove in Real Life\u201d were written in 2022. \u201cBy 2025, I\u2019ve changed, the world has changed so much, and so much has happened,\u201d Lizzo said. \u201cAnd not that I felt disconnected from anything that I put out, because I created it, but it just wasn\u2019t what I was feeling right now. I was like, I need to do shit differently and I don\u2019t know what it is, but I\u2019m going to just start following my instincts<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tInstead of Love in Real Life<\/em>, Lizzo released the rap-heavy mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling<\/em>, last June. In an interview with Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, Lizzo spoke about \u201creclaiming\u201d some of the confidence she lost, and how her next album would be \u201ca little moodier\u201d and address \u201cthe dark times\u201d \u2014 ostensibly referring to the ongoing legal battle<\/a> with the ex-dancers, who\u2019ve accused her of harassment. (Lizzo has denied the allegations.)<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s unclear how much of the material on Bitch <\/em>was originally intended for Love in Real Life<\/em>, or if Lizzo completely overhauled the record. The LP takes its title from a song called \u201cBitch,\u201d which Lizzo teased in her RS<\/em> interview, but hasn\u2019t released yet. Meanwhile, \u201cLove in Real Life\u201d and \u201cStill Bad\u201d don\u2019t appear on the track list, but \u201cDon\u2019t Make Me Love U\u201d \u2014 officially released as a single last month \u2014 will be on the record.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
