Dolly Parton<\/a> has scrapped her upcoming six-date Las Vegas residency due to ongoing health issues. The 80-year-old singer-songwriter was originally set to perform at Caesar\u2019s Palace in December 2025 before she postponed those shows (also due to health issues) to September 2026. Now, she\u2019s shared on Instagram<\/a> that she won\u2019t make the new dates either.<\/p>\n Parton notes that in recent years she has struggled with her immune and digestive systems. Thankfully, she claims to be responding well to treatment, explaining that her doctors have assured her that \u201ceverything I have is treatable, so I\u2019m going to stick with that.\u201d But the medication she takes makes her \u201cswimmy-headed,\u201d making it difficult to perform on stage. \u201cOf course I can\u2019t be dizzy carrying banjos, guitars, and such on five-inch heels,\u201d she explains. \u201cAnd you know I\u2019m going to wearing them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Despite the cancellation, Parton says she\u2019s still working on her Broadway musical, Dolly: A True Original Musical,<\/em> which is slated to open in New York in the fall: \u201cHopefully, sometime, you\u2019ll come up to New York and maybe see my show, and I\u2019ll see you somewhere down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThank you for standing by me and showing me so much love and support over the past year,\u201d she adds. \u201cI\u2019ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way!\u201d \u201cDolly: Live in Las Vegas,\u201d would have been Parton\u2019s first concert series since her 65-show Pure & Simple tour in 2016.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
