Tasha<\/a> has a new album on the way. You Are Spring<\/em>, the singer-songwriter\u2019s follow-up to 2024\u2019s All This and So Much More<\/em><\/a>, is due June 26 via Bayonet<\/a>. A pair of new songs accompany the announcement\u2014one of which, \u201cSpring,\u201d features L\u2019Rain and Jamila Woods. Listen to that and \u201cClarion\u201d below.<\/p>\n Of \u201cClarion,\u201d Tasha says in a press release, came together on a long drive between New York and Chicago. \u201cI repeatedly took note of a sign for the Pennsylvania town of Clarion and each time thought to myself, \u2018That would make a great name for a song.\u2019 So I decided to make a song with that name. A song about coming and going, about wanting to change your life but not quite knowing how you\u2019re going to do it, but feeling suddenly on the edge of figuring it out. The goodness is coming, it\u2019s around the corner, you can feel it!\u201d<\/p>\n Having relocated from Chicago to New York, Tasha decamped to Los Angeles to record the album with producer and SML<\/a> member Gregory Uhlmann. \u201cSpring,\u201d she adds, was inspired by the Gwendolyn Brooks poem \u201cTo the Young Who Want To Die<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
