\n\tIt really is all whiskey under the bridge for Kacey Musgraves<\/a> and Miranda Lambert<\/a>. On Tuesday night, the two country queens sang the live debut of their collaboration \u201cHorses and Divorces,\u201d which is featured on Musgraves\u2019 new LP Middle of Nowhere<\/em><\/a>. It was only right for Musgraves to bring out her fellow Texan during the final night of her three-night residency at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, you know, us East Texas girls gotta stick together, right, Miranda?\u201d Musgraves said to introduce Lambert, according to fan videos<\/a> from the night. The pair hugged before the \u201cDry Spell\u201d singer asked, \u201cIs this a dream? Is this really happening?\u201d Lambert responded with an emphatically: \u201cTonight we bury the hatchet right here in Gruene Hall!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe pair dove into a faithful rendition of \u201cHorses and Divorces,\u201d delivering lyrics like \u201cAnd a few years ago you\u2019d have set me on fire,\u201d with a dramatic flair. Lucky attendees at Gruene Hall cheered as the two country singers cemented their peace treaty onstage. Fans online<\/a> compared the song, and its performance, to the culture-shifting moment when Charli XCX and Lorde squashed their beef on 2024\u2019s \u201cGirl, So Confusing.\u201d In a way, it is the country version of that collaboration. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe drama between Musgraves and Lambert goes back to 2013. Back then, there was rumored resentment between the two after Musgraves wrote Lambert\u2019s hit \u201cMama\u2019s Broken Heart\u201d for her own first LP, but reluctantly gave it up to Lambert. With \u201cHorses and Divorces,\u201d the two teamed up to sing about their common ground and put any past issues behind them. \u201cIt was very full circle in so many ways,\u201d Musgraves said in a recent interview<\/a>. \u201cWe aired out any of the old laundry. We had some laughs and wrote the song in a matter of a few hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
