Long a fan of Georges Franju\u2019s cult horror movie <em>Les Yeux Sans Visage<\/em>, the French composer decided to reinvent the score wholesale\u2014originally for the Belgian cultural center Viernulvier\u2019s <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.viernulvier.gent\/en\/pQGd3iK\/videodroom-2024\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.viernulvier.gent\/en\/pQGd3iK\/videodroom-2024&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.viernulvier.gent\/en\/pQGd3iK\/videodroom-2024\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Videodroom<\/a> series, and now on record. Listen to that below, ahead of the record\u2019s release on June 26.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sans Visage<\/em>, which follows Atkinson\u2019s solo records <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/felicia-atkinson-space-as-an-instrument\/\"><em>Space as an Instrument<\/em><\/a> and <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/feliciaatkinson.bandcamp.com\/album\/promenades\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/feliciaatkinson.bandcamp.com\/album\/promenades&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/feliciaatkinson.bandcamp.com\/album\/promenades\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Promenades<\/em><\/a>, is a 34-minute cut of her full 90-minute score. \u201cThrough the music, I decided to bring back [the characters\u2019] empowerment despite what they endure,\u201d she said in a press release, alluding to the film\u2019s villain, a surgeon who becomes obsessed with performing a facial skin graft on his daughter.
