Morgan\u2019s got to go,\u201d he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hardrock.bet\/news\/kane-brown-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hard Rock Bet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"single-post-image \">\n<figure class=\"img-tag has-sizer alignnone\">\n<p><span class=\"visually-hidden\">Scott Olson \/ Jason Kempin, Getty Images<\/span><\/p><figcaption>Scott Olson \/ Jason Kempin, Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Brown also included <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/shania-twain\" target=\"_blank\">Shania Twain<\/a>, while noting that newer artists like <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/ella-langley\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Langley<\/a> are already making a strong case for themselves: \u201cSee, I would put Ella up there right now because she\u2019s killing it, but it\u2019s too early.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Getting &#8216;Screwed&#8217; Early in His Career<\/h3>\n<p>Long before becoming a chart-topping star, Brown says he was dealing with major setbacks behind the scenes after signing what he later claimed was a fraudulent record deal tied to producer <strong>Polow da Don<\/strong> and his label in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Years later, Brown revealed just how much the situation allegedly cost him financially during an appearance on the <strong><em>BobbyCast<\/em><\/strong> podcast.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read More:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/kane-brown-parenting-dynamics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kane Brown On Family Life: \u2018I Discipline The Kids, My Wife Disciplines Me\u2019 (Watch)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have what a lot of people think that I have,\u201d Brown admitted before revealing he lost an estimated $10 million because of the deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI asked my business manager. I got screwed out of that,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/kane-brown-record-deal-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\">the &#8220;Woman&#8221; singer said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the setback, Brown eventually broke through in a major way, with every album he\u2019s released since 2016 landing in the Top 5 in the United States.<\/p>\n<h3>Racism in Country Music<\/h3>\n<p>Brown has also spoken openly about facing racism during <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/kane-brown-nashville-bar-on-broadway\/\" target=\"_blank\">his rise in country music<\/a>, including experiences with songwriters in Nashville who allegedly refused to work with him because he\u2019s Black.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on <strong>Jake Paul<\/strong>\u2019s <strong><em>Impaulsive podcast<\/em><\/strong>, Brown recalled confronting one writer after learning they had turned down a session with him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember \u2014 I ain\u2019t gonna say a name because I don\u2019t want to throw him under the bus \u2014 but there was one writer that said he wouldn\u2019t write with me because I\u2019m Black.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/kane-brown-racism-country-music\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brown said the writer later apologized<\/a>, though he claimed another major songwriter with dozens of No. 1 hits had made similar comments before eventually trying to reconnect after Brown\u2019s career exploded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe apologized whenever we blew up and was trying to write with me and I said no,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"photogallery-wrapper blog-photogallery \">\n<h2 class=\"photogallery-title\">20 Kane Brown Songs Every Fan Has Memorized<\/h2>\n<div class=\"photogallery-description\">\n<p>Kane Brown has built himself quite the career: He&#8217;s come a long way since 2015, when he released his first single, &#8220;Used to Love You Sober.&#8221; Prior to that, Brown was covering other country stars&#8217; songs for social media.
