\n\tAfter a slew of artists dropped out of the Freedom 250 concert<\/a> series upon learning about organizers\u2019 ties to Donald Trump<\/a>, the president announced on Thursday that he would be replacing the shows with a rally headlined by none other than \u2026 himself.<\/p>\n \n\tHis announcement comes after he urged for the concerts\u2019 cancellation<\/a> and pitched that\u00a0he himself perform\u00a0<\/a>following the sudden exits of artists. The rally will still include music, however, and feature Eighties country singer\u00a0Lee Greenwood<\/a>, who wrote the patriotic hit \u201cGod Bless the U.S.A.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tTaking to Truth Social on Thursday, Trump declared that the \u201cthe Greatest Rally, EVER\u201d would take place on June 24 in Washington, D.C. Perhaps still sour from the Freedom 250 fiasco, he insisted that he didn\u2019t \u201cwant singers with no talent, but big fees to put you to sleep\u201d anyway, and that \u201cAll we want is you, me, a few speakers, and the Greatest Music ever played.\u201d He added that opera singer Christopher Macchio would be added to the bill to sing \u201cNessun Dorma,\u201d \u201cHallelujah,\u201d and other riveting tracks.<\/p>\n \n\tLate last month,\u00a0organizers for the Freedom 250\u00a0concert \u2014 helmed by Keith Krach, a Trump appointee \u2014 announced their strange lineup for the event, which included the likes of Martina McBride, Flo Rida and the Commodores alongside Nineties acts like Milli Vanilli and Vanilla Ice.<\/p>\n \n\tSoon, after the lineup announcement, many of the booked acts \u2014 including Morris Day and the Time and Young MC \u2014 stated they would not partake in the Freedom 250 concert. \u201cIt\u2019s a no for me,\u201d Day wrote on social media. <\/p>\n
