\n\tThe VFX supervisor on Toy Story<\/a> 5<\/em> revealed Friday that a \u201cdecoy version\u201d of the animated film was created to keep Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2019s involvement<\/a> a secret until this week.<\/p>\n \n\tThomas Jordan said at a SXSW London panel that only \u201ca very small group\u201d working on the movie knew that Swift had recorded \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You<\/a>\u201d for Toy Story 5<\/em>, and that a version of the film without Swift\u2019s track was shown to press and Disney\/Pixar staffers.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThe crew that made Toy Story 5<\/em> did not know about this secret until last week,\u201d Jordan said (via Variety<\/em><\/a>), adding that a \u201cdecoy version\u201d without \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d was used in early previews.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cTurns out, Taylor Swift is a huge Toy Story<\/em> fan like many of us,\u201d Jordan added of the singer\u2019s involvement. \u201cShe actually saw an early version of the film, she requested to see it before it was finished and she wrote the song and then asked us if we wanted it. And we said, \u2018Uh, yes! Yes we do.\u2019 That was in February, so we\u2019ve had to keep it a secret ever since then.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI Knew It, I Knew You,\u201d which finds Swift returning to her country roots, was announced<\/a> on June 1 and released<\/a> June 5. \u201cI\u2019ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I\u2019ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first\u00a0Toy Story<\/em>\u00a0movie,\u201d Swift wrote on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>. \u201cI fell instantly in love with\u00a0Toy Story 5<\/em>\u00a0when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?\u201d<\/p>\n
