Called \u201cOutta Time,\u201d it features guitar and vocals from <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/artists\/33635-a-k-paul\/\">A.K. Paul<\/a>, brother and frequent collaborator of the enigmatic musician <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/artists\/28714-jai-paul\/\">Jai Paul<\/a>. In the track\u2019s accompanying video, Kelela and Paul sing to each other in a studio, confronting the end of a strained relationship as night falls. Watch the clip below.<\/p>\n<p>The New York-based singer-songwriter first wrote the track while she was creating her 2017 album, <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/kelela-take-me-apart\/\"><em>Take Me Apart<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI sat with that song for so long, and it&#8217;s literally untouched,\u201d said in a statement. \u201cI waited because I needed to build a house for this song that gives its sound more context.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Out on July 10th, <em>New Avatar<\/em> will be followed by Kelela\u2019s first international <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/kelela-lines-up-north-american-tour\/\">tour<\/a> since 2023.<\/p>\n<figure data-testid=\"IframeEmbed\" class=\"IframeEmbedWrapper-sc-fixZhC fJBrNq iframe-embed\"\/><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/news\/watch-kelela-sing-to-ak-paul-on-new-single-outta-time\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kelela has released another song off her upcoming album New Avatar.
