Poet, actor, director, singer, and recently minted graphic novelist Saul Williams<\/a> has announced his first album in seven years. Leap Life<\/em> arrives August 28 via Big Dada, and features a stacked list of contributors: Massive Attack\u2019s Robert Del Naja, Kamasi Washington, Carlos Ni\u00f1o, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Surya Botofasina\u2014along with Gonjasufi and Moor Mother, who contribute to lead single \u201cConspiracy.\u201d You can watch the video for the new track below.<\/p>\n

Williams views Leap Life<\/em>\u2014named after his leap-year birthday\u2014as an attempt to commune with the dead, particularly in light of the ongoing devastation in Palestine, Sudan, Haiti, Congo, and Yemen. \u201cWe\u2019re going to need those spirits,\u201d he writes in a statement. \u201cThere\u2019s an understanding that the soldiers in our struggle are not only the visible ones. There are people standing and fighting with us that we may not see.\u201d<\/p>\n
