Over the weekend, Britt <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaGmlH7xe8q\/\" target=\"_blank\">wrote \u201cSayonara Bobby\u201d on his Facebook page<\/a> page along with an image of a plane flight from Austin, Texas, where the next Dylan show is set to take place at the Moody Amphitheater, to Nashville, Tennessee. In the comments, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hlepidus\/p\/DaG1mGjRbrX\/\">he told a fan \u201cI quit.\u201d<\/a> (A shoutout to Dylan super fan Harold Lepidus for flagging the posts.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe surprise announcement caused a huge stir in the Dylan fan community since Lage has an event <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalsawdust.org\/event\/the-grammy-museum-presents-a-new-york-evening-with-julian-lage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">June 29 at National Sawdust in Brooklyn, New York,<\/a> meaning he\u2019ll also be unavailable to perform in Austin. At this point, the only remaining members of Dylan\u2019s band, at least known to the public, are bassist Tony Garnier and drummer Anton Fig.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bob Dylan FULL SHOW @Santa  Barbara Bowl June 17, 2026 - Surprise: Julian Lage on electric guitar\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b19iqflB8LM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe least likely scenario for the Austin show is that Dylan takes the stage without any guitarist, and is backed only by Garnier and Fig. The National Sawdust show has been on the books for quite some time, and Dylan surely knew that Lage wasn\u2019t a long-term band member. He has way too many other commitments. It\u2019s likely that either Lancio is returning or Dylan hired a new, full-time guitarist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBut if Britt quit the band as abruptly as his Facebook post seems to suggest, Dylan had little time to hire a second new guitarist. He hasn\u2019t played with a bare lineup of a drummer, bassist, and just one guitarist since the earliest days of the Never Ending Tour. Once pedal steel player Bucky Baxter joined the band in 1992, there\u2019s also been at least two guitar players. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAs is often the case with the Never Ending Tour, we\u2019ll have no clue who is in the band until the lights dim and the musicians walk on the stage. We can say that the setlist is unlikely to change dramatically. We wish them both the best of luck.
