Megan Moroney<\/a> is currently on her massive Cloud 9 Tour,<\/em> going from city to city performing for her fans.<\/p>\n Something that I was shocked to hear about Moroney and her stage outfits is the weight of the gear she wears on stage.<\/p>\n Megan Moroney was a guest on the Bobbycast<\/a><\/em> where she got to talking about performing and training for her tour.<\/p>\n “I do all my rehearsals in a weighted vest,” she reveals. “I’ve underestimated how sometimes my outfits weigh 10 to 15 pounds.”<\/p>\n Before she started rehearsing in the weighted vest, she sais that sometimes\u00a0“when I’ve done the performance I’ve been like ‘oh sh–, I am not in shape for this.”<\/p>\n 10-15 extra pounds might not sound like the biggest difference, but you’ve got to remember that Moroney, like most headlining performers, aren’t just standing there while they sing: They’re moving around the stage, under bright lights, while belting out their songs. And a headlining set can last at least 60 minutes. That’s a pretty significant workout!<\/p>\n Moroney says, “Singing with a weighted vest and on a treadmill. Sauna and cold tub every day.”<\/p>\n Just from interviewing country artists over the past 9 years, I know that Kenny Chesney,<\/a> Jelly Roll<\/a> and Dierks Bentley<\/a> all cold plunge, now we can add Moroney to that list.<\/p>\n According to the Mayo Clinic<\/em><\/a>, a\u00a0cold plunge \u2014 also known as cold-water immersion or an ice bath \u2014 is the practice of submerging the body in cold water (typically 50\u00b0 F to 59\u00b0 F) for a short duration to trigger therapeutic health and recovery benefits.<\/p>\n Sounds like a dreadful experience if you ask me, but several stars swear by it.<\/p>\n With a sharp pen and even sharper observational skills, Megan Moroney has recorded some of the very most relatable lyrics in country music during her years in the spotlight to date.<\/p>\n Moroney’s breakout hit was “Tennessee Orange,” a song about flipping football teams (however hesitantly) to align with a love interest.
