{"id":68017,"date":"2026-07-07T13:22:27","date_gmt":"2026-07-07T13:22:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/07\/asia-name-new-album-indigo-release-video-for-the-traveller\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T13:22:27","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T13:22:27","slug":"asia-name-new-album-indigo-release-video-for-the-traveller","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2026\/07\/07\/asia-name-new-album-indigo-release-video-for-the-traveller\/","title":{"rendered":"Asia Name New Album \u2018Indigo,\u2019 Release Video for \u2018The Traveller\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>British prog supergroup <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/asia\/\">Asia<\/a>\u00a0have announced the launch of their 14th studio album,<em> Indigo<\/em>, which will arrive on Nov. 6.<\/p>\n<p>The follow-up to 2014\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/asia-gravitas\/\"><em>Gravitas<\/em><\/a> includes two songs written by late frontman <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/john-wetton\/\">John Wetton<\/a>, while former guitarist <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/steve-howe\/\">Steve Howe<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/yes\/\">Yes<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/dream-theater\/\">Dream Theate<\/a>r drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/mike-portnoy\/\">Mike Portnoy<\/a> make guest appearances.<\/p>\n<p>The band released a video for lead track \u201cThe Traveller (Into the Light)\u201d which can be seen below, along with the album\u2019s track list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/asia-unfinished-songs-geoff-downes\/\">Revived Asia May Inspire Geoff Downes&#8217; Return to Unfinished Songs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first time Asia\u2019s latest lineup will have been heard on record. Co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/geoff-downes\/\">Geoff Downes<\/a>\u2019 current companions are guitarist John Mitchell of It Bites and Lonely Robot, drummer Virgil Donati of Planet X, and bassist\/vocalist Harry Whitley.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first track off the album is a high-power energy piece, \u201d Downes said of \u201cThe Traveller,\u201d adding that it featured \u201ca few elements of prog trickery [while] retaining the accessible chorus block, which was always a signature of Asia\u2019s music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He explained that he and Wetton had started writing songs soon after the release of <em>Gravitas<\/em>, with two of those tracks \u2013 \u201cTattoo Indigo (Parts 2 &amp; 3)\u201d and \u201cChesapeake Bay\u201d \u2013 appearing on on the record. Howe and Portnoy play on the latter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left\">\u201cIt was with great sadness that John became seriously ill during this time, and we had put on hold our plans,\u201d Downes said. \u201c[A]nd sadly <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/john-wetton-dies\/\">John passed away<\/a> before we could continue and complete it.
