We finally have details on Alabama Shakes<\/a>\u2019 long-rumored new album. I Must Be Dreaming<\/em>, their first studio release in 11 years, is coming August 28 via Island and will include the already-released tracks \u201cAmerican Dream<\/a>\u201d and \u201cAnother Life<\/a>.\u201d The next single, \u201cI Feel Hope Coming,\u201d drops this Friday.<\/p>\n In a statement, singer Brittany Howard said the album title \u201chas a double meaning to it. It could be saying, \u2018I must be dreaming, because the world is so fucking crazy right now.\u2019 But it could also mean, \u2018I must be dreaming, because the world is so incredibly beautiful.\u2019 Both those things can be true at once.\u201d<\/p>\n The Shakes (Howard, Heath Fogg, and Zac Cockrell) recorded the follow-up to 2015\u2019s Sound & Color<\/a><\/em> after reuniting<\/a> for a surprise set in December 2024. The trio have been touring on and off ever since, including their current trek, which runs through the end of September.
