Iron Maiden<\/a>\u2019s Steve Harris said he hopes being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame<\/a> will mean American fans \u201cstop banging on about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Ever since the British band was named among the class of 2026, members have made it clear that it doesn\u2019t mean as much to them as it has to other inductees.<\/p>\n The question of whether to attend the ceremony in Los Angeles on Nov. 14 was taken out of their hands since they\u2019ll be on tour in Australia at the time.<\/p>\n But in a recent interview with Metal Hammer<\/em><\/a>, Harris said he wouldn\u2019t be there even if schedules made it possible.<\/p>\n READ MORE:\u00a0The Best Song From Every Iron Maiden Album<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Asked if Maiden had considered rejecting the honor outright, he replied: \u201cNo, there have only been comments from a couple of [us] here and there. Bruce<\/a> has his own strong feelings about it, which is his opinion.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s never really bothered me one way or the other, because awards aren\u2019t what we do this for. But in a weird way I\u2019m glad it\u2019s happened so the Americans will stop banging on about it. On the subject of attending the event if it were possible, Harris said: \u201cI don\u2019t do those sort of things. I didn\u2019t even go to the recent red carpet thing for the documentary. It\u2019s not me.\u201d<\/p>\n Dickinson confirmed that he also had no intention of being there under any circumstances. He\u2019s expressed strong negative opinions about the Rock Hall in the past \u2013 notably in 2018 when he called the organization \u201csanctimonious.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n He added: \u201cRock and roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland. It\u2019s a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it\u2019s dead. It\u2019s worse than horrible, it\u2019s vulgar.\u201d<\/p>\n In the recent interview he said: \u201cI can\u2019t even summon the energy to be vitriolic about it. I appreciate that a significant number of people are happy for us. That\u2019s nice. It\u2019s not something we\u2019re bothered about.\u201d<\/p>\n
