\n\tKarol G<\/a> is opening up about how it really<\/em> felt to make history earlier this year as the first Latina artist<\/a> to headline Coachella.<\/a> \u201cThe fact that I was the first one just feels wrong \u2014 it feels incorrect,\u201d the Colombian superstar said in a recent cover story<\/a> for Elle<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tKarol G was even bold enough to share her unfiltered thoughts with Paul Tollett, CEO of Goldenvoice, Coachella\u2019s promoter. \u201cI mentioned how crazy it was that it took 27 years [since] the festival [began] to finally bring a Latina to the stage as a headliner,\u201d she said in the interview.<\/p>\n \n\tKarol revealed that the conversation came up when Tollet visited the star in her trailer after she closed out the first weekend with a stunning performance. \u201cHe was very kind. He said, \u2018I should apologize,’\u201d Karol recalls, adding, \u201cI didn\u2019t want to make him feel bad, but he acknowledged that it was the reality \u2026Before me, there were so many who could have undoubtedly filled that spot. What if Daddy Yankee had headlined Coachella? Or Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, Shakira?\u201d<\/p>\n
