\n\tOzzy Osbourne<\/a>\u2019s hometown of Birmingham, England has announced plans to honor the late Black Sabbath singer on the anniversary of his death<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tOn July 22, or the first annual \u201cOzzy Day\u201d in the city, the Birmingham city council has plotted \u201ca free program of live music, public art, special performances and shared moments celebrating the life, legacy and Birmingham roots of the Prince of Darkness,\u201d turning \u201cthe city into a living tribute to the Aston-born rock legend,\u201d the council said<\/a> Thursday.<\/p>\n \n\tThe city has long been a destination for Ozzy fans thanks to tourist destinations like the \u201cBlack Sabbath Bench\u201d and Osbourne murals.<\/p>\n \n\tAmong the festivities planned are pop-up performances by the Bostin Brass band \u2014 who took part in Osbourne\u2019s funeral procession in 2025 \u2014 playing the songs of Black Sabbath and Osbourne throughout the city, as well as a lunchtime concert by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Birmingham Music Archive and OPUS (Outdoor Places Unusual Spaces) will similarly share tributes and short films focusing on Osbourne and his hometown of Birmingham; a limited edition shirt, sold only during Ozzy Day, will feature an image of Osbourne at his Back to the Beginning farewell concert<\/a> with the back of the shirt listing all 52 shows \u2014 Black Sabbath and solo \u2014 that the singer played in Birmingham.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cOzzy Osbourne is one of Birmingham\u2019s foremost cultural figures, and we continue to honour his legacy here in the city, where his journey began. I am glad to see the city partners coming together to celebrate Ozzy\u2019s influence on music and his pride in his hometown,\u201d Councillor Deborah Harries, Cabinet Member for Culture for the Birmingham City Council said in a statement.<\/p>\n
