\n\tMetallica<\/a>\u2018s Lars Ulrich<\/a> was there for U2\u2019s historic opening night <\/a>of\u00a0the Sphere<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Las Vegas<\/a> \u2014\u00a0a moment that marked a stunning leap forward for the concert experience and rebooted the band after a long hiatus.<\/p>\n \n\tWhen speaking to U2 guitarist the Edge during his\u00a0\u201cClose To The Edge\u201d\u00a0show on SiriusXM, Ulrich shared how the experience reinvigorated his own sense of what was possible on stage. \u201cI was there opening night and was so just fucking awestruck, inspired, energized \u2014 all of it,\u201d said the drummer. \u201cIt was just, like, \u2018Holy shit, this is somehow another frontier.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cObviously, you guys were the first ones in and it was just so incredible to see that night,\u201d Ulrich continued. \u201cSo, in that spirit, three years later, when we start here in a few months, we\u2019re so excited and definitely have heard from a few folks about the filming and all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tMetallica is set to unleash their own residency at the Sphere this fall. The band\u2019s Life Burns Faster<\/a> run (a lyric from \u201cMaster of Puppets\u201d) initially began with eight scheduled dates. After overwhelming demand from fans, the residency soon expanded to an extensive 24 nights and will now run weekly in two-date increments from October 2026 through March 2027.<\/p>\n
