Chad Hugo<\/a>, co-founder of the Virginia Beach producer duo The Neptunes, has released his debut single. Titled \u201cJumpupw!nya,\u201d the upbeat song hip-hop song hovers at around the two-minute mark, featuring Tierra Whack<\/a> and Leikeli47<\/a>. \u201cFor those that don\u2019t know, I\u2019m from Brooklyn by way of Virginia; so when Chad called, I leapt at the opportunity to collaborate,\u201d Leikeli47 said in a statement. \u201cLove to the amazing Tierra Whack. I\u2019m just happy to play my part.\u201d The track also comes with futuristic visuals replete with spaceship control panels, hazmat suits, and apocalyptic collapse. Watch the music video below.<\/p>\n Hugo is currently in the midst of a legal battle<\/a> with his former partner Pharrell Williams. Hugo\u2019s lawyers allege that Williams owes him up to $1 million from their final album as N.E.R.D., 2017\u2019s No One Ever Really Dies<\/em>. In 2024, Hugo was engaged in a separate lawsuit<\/a> with Williams over the ownership of The Neptunes trademark.<\/p>\n While Hugo hasn\u2019t put out solo music before \u201cJumpupw!nya,\u201d in recent years producing songs for Ye<\/a> and Ty Dolla Sign, Brockhampton, and Brent Faiyaz<\/a>.<\/p>\n
