Ransom Canyon<\/em><\/a> was already a favorite show for some country music fans, but the show just got a whole lot more country.<\/p>\n Season 2 of the Netflix romantic drama dropped on Thursday (July 23), and the show features an appearance from Thomas Rhett<\/a>, as well as Jordan Davis<\/a>.<\/p>\n The two play themselves during Season 2, Episode 7, performing at a music festival.<\/p>\n The festival is actually a plot point for the season, as Quinn (Minka Kelly) sets out to help save the town financially by putting on a festival called No Place Like Home.<\/p>\n Rhett and Davis appear onstage during the festival, and they perform “Ain’t a Bad Life,” which recently became Rhett’s 25th No. 1 hit.<\/p>\n \u201cThomas Rhett and Jordan responded to the story of Quinn throwing this to save the small town,” Ransom Canyon<\/em> showrunner April Blair says. “They were so sweet, humble, down to play, and it just fit the vibe perfectly.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Netflix offers fans an extended version of the festival as a deleted scene<\/a>.<\/p>\n IMDb<\/a>\u00a0describes\u00a0Ransom Canyon<\/em>\u00a0as a “romance-fueled family drama and contemporary Western saga that charts the intersecting lives and loves of three ranching families set against the sweeping tundras and rolling rivers of Texas Hill Country.”<\/p>\n Ransom Canyon<\/em>\u00a0centers on a local rancher named Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) and the long friendship between him and local dancehall owner Quinn O’Grady (Kelly). She’s a concert pianist who has returned to her hometown in Texas after a career setback shattered her self-confidence.<\/p>\n They’ve been friends since high school, but Kirkland and O’Grady developed into an on-and-off romance with a lot of old baggage during Season 1.<\/p>\n Kirkland and local business owners were also fending off unwanted overtures from an energy company that wanted to acquire his ranch, as well as controlling financial interests in Ransom’s most important local businesses.<\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/em> Who Is Charley Crockett? Get to Know the Singer From\u00a0Ransom Canyon<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The company was getting underhanded help from some of the town’s most prominent residents, including Kirkland’s father, Samuel Kirkland, a senator who milks his office to help leverage his financial vision for the town and how best to exploit its resources.<\/p>\n Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly return in their roles as Kirkland and O’Grady.<\/p>\n Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher and Marianly Tejada are also part of the cast for Ransom Canyon<\/em> Season 2, and Casey W. Johnson has been promoted to a series regular for the new season.<\/p>\n Ransom Canyon<\/em> has also added Ben Robson and Heidi Engerman in recurring roles for Season 2. According to Deadline<\/a>, Robson plays a man named Oliver, a possible new love interest for Quinn, while Engerman plays a character named Sydney.<\/p>\n Patricia Clarkson guest stars as\u00a0Claire O’Grady, Quinn’s mother.<\/p>\n Former\u00a0Reba<\/em>\u00a0star Steve Howey is also\u00a0involved in Season 2 of\u00a0Ransom Canyon<\/em><\/a>.
