Sam Fender<\/a> and Olivia Dean<\/a> just made history on the UK Billboard<\/em> charts. \u201cRein Me In,\u201d their collaborative single from his 2025 album People Watching<\/em><\/a>, clocked its 19th week atop the chart, making it the longest-running No. 1 single ever in the United Kingdom, reports Billboard<\/em><\/a>. They broke a 73-year record for that achievement; Frankie Laine\u2019s hit \u201cI Believe\u201d previously held the title with 18 weeks back in 1953.<\/p>\n \u201cRein Me In\u201d came out with the rest of People Watching<\/em> in February 2025, but the Dean-featuring version was tacked on in June of that year. It took a long but steady climb since then to finally hit No. 1 in February and, after winning Song of the Year<\/a> at the 2026 BRIT Awards, was barely ever dislodged from that spot.<\/p>\n Only four other songs briefly claimed the No. 1 slot on the UK charts during that time: Harry Styles\u2019 \u201cAmerican Girls\u201d (one week), Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cDrop Dead\u201d (one week), Ariana Grande\u2019s \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me\u201d (one week), and Taylor Swift\u2019s \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d (one week). That airtime otherwise belonged to Fender and Dean\u2019s hit.<\/p>\n Fender told the Official Charts Company that he was \u201ccompletely lost for words; thank you so much to Olivia Dean and the fans for making this song the juggernaut that it is. Can\u2019t believe we broke the U.K. record!\u201d As for Dean, she celebrated the milestone during her headlining set at Lollapalooza<\/a>, where she brought out Fender<\/a> to perform the single together. It marked the first time they ever played it together in the United States.<\/p>\n
