\n\tPhoebe Bridgers<\/a>\u2019 new album, Lost Weekend<\/em>, is almost here, and the reviews are trickling in. Scanning the credits, you\u2019ll come across both longtime collaborators (Christian Lee Hutson, her boygenius <\/a>bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, and others) and some new faces (Jack Antonoff, Alex G on additional production). Most intriguingly of all, there\u2019s a mystery guest: Who is Son-John Johnson?<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cJohnson\u201d is credited as contributing to two Lost Weekend<\/em> tracks<\/a>: \u201cKill Me\u201d and \u201cI Can\u2019t Wait.\u201d Whoever he is, he provides backing vocals on the former, and takes a more pronounced role on \u201cI Can\u2019t Wait,\u201d duetting with Bridgers. \u201cAll my life\/Side by side\/Hyde Jekyll Hyde\/Finally together,\u201d they sing in unison. <\/p>\n \n\tIf you\u2019ve been tuned in to new music lately, this guy is going to sound awfully familiar. That\u2019s because he sounds like Geese<\/a> frontman Cameron Winter<\/a>. Like, a lot<\/em>. <\/em>Winter has one of the most recognizable voices in rock right now, and his raw falsetto is unmistakeable on these tracks. It\u2019s either him or a very good impersonator.<\/p>\n \n\tAsked about this by Rolling Stone<\/em>, Winter just laughs. \u201cI\u2019ll have to contact my lawyer,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n \n\tA rep for Bridgers did not respond to a request for comment for this story. But it\u2019s worth noting that Winter has a history of using cheeky pseudonyms \u2014 earlier this year, he performed a secret solo show billed as \u201cChet Chomsky<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tLost Weekend<\/em> arrives Aug. 14 via Dead Oceans. Bridgers announced the album <\/a>earlier this summer, then dropped the single \u201cLost Boys<\/a>.\u201d She performed it twice during surprise appearances on The Tonight Show Starring\u00a0Jimmy Fallon<\/em>, once with young musicians, and a second time with veteran musicians<\/a> that included the legendary Dan Reeder<\/a>. <\/p>\n
