\n\tKurupt<\/a> recently shared on SiriusXM\u2019s Sway in the Morning<\/a><\/em> that Eminem<\/a> quietly helped pay for his rehab treatment during one of the darkest periods of his life. Over the years, the rapper has been open about his battle with alcoholism over the years, which at one point left him in a coma for three weeks. During that difficult time, both Eminem and\u00a0Dr. Dre<\/a>\u00a0stepped in to support him.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to Kurupt, Dr. Dre<\/a> was the first to reach out. \u201cIt was Dr. Dre that called me, literally, and was just giving his support and letting me know that we all go through these things. He was just giving me that game,\u201d he said. Kurupt explained that Eminem later relayed a message through Dr. Dre, offering to help him get the treatment he needed. \u201cI\u2019m going to put Kurupt with my folks and put some money into getting him into a rehab situation where he can sit it down, enjoy himself, and be out of the way. Nobody knows he\u2019s there.\u201d Dr. Dre also passed along another message from Eminem. \u201cTell Kurupt I love him,\u201d Dr. Dre relayed.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat gesture surprised Tha Dogg Pound member and meant the world to him during one of the hardest chapters of his life. \u201cThat was really special to me. I appreciate both of them so much. It\u2019s like, damn, you know, he just came out of the blue from nowhere,\u201d he said. Eminem has also been open about his own struggles with addiction, including his near-fatal overdose in 2007, making his support for Kurupt even more meaningful.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow focused on his healing journey, Kurupt is also back to making music. He recently released a collaborative project,\u00a0Tales From My Hood<\/em>, with longtime collaborator DJ Battlecat in late July, and he is also gearing up for another collab project between\u00a0Rakim<\/a>\u00a0and Masta Killa,\u00a0The Godbody<\/em><\/a>, with\u00a0Snoop Dogg<\/a>,\u00a0Ghostface Killah<\/a>,\u00a0Raekwon<\/a>, and\u00a0KRS-One<\/a>\u00a0all tapped to be featured on the project, which is set for a September 14 release.<\/p>\n
