Outside Lands once again took place against the breathtaking backdrop of Golden Gate Park, and was led by a stacked lineup featuring Charli XCX, the Strokes, PinkPantheress, and Turnstile at the top of the bill, plus must-see performances by the xx, Clipse, Geese, Jade, Tinashe, and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDuring the 2026 edition, several artists made special cameos during each other\u2019s sets: Audrey Hobert dropped in on a set by her brother Malcolm Todd not long after her own performance across the grounds, Lucy Dacus invited Julien Baker to duet on a fan-favorite track, Charli popped in at the Strokes\u2019 show for the crossover moment of the weekend, and Leon Bridges and Tycho played surprise slots at the intimate, woodsy Duboce Triangle. There was a little something for every one of Charli\u2019s angels. Her hyperpop statements were there in the pandemic-era freak-out \u201cPink Diamond\u201d and <em>Pop<\/em> 2 favorite \u201cTrack 10\u201d; <em>Brat<\/em>\u2019s most frenetic bangers were featured in a mid-show act; her baroque <em>Wuthering Heights <\/em>tracks provided something of a respite; and, flanked by a gaggle of backup dancers, she gave fans lots of quasi-choreography that recalled her <em>Crash<\/em> tour. The crowd head-banged and roared along to <em>Music, Fashion, Film<\/em>\u2019s most fried-out vocals with ardor, even when the bass threatened to swallow up everything in its wake on the night\u2019s standout, \u201cCamera.\u201d Charli ended her rock-heavy show by creating a living painting with her dancers (think a Renaissance mural, if it was blocked at CBGBs) as filmmaker David Cronenberg\u2019s refrain that \u201cno one lasts forever\u201d echoed across the grounds. Dacus and her band strode in wearing matching \u201cLD\u201d letterman jackets and floated through the boygenius singer-songwriter\u2019s most dreamy tracks on a hazy afternoon. Friends and lovers alike held hands and swayed along to swooners like \u201cBest Guess\u201d and \u201cHot &amp; Heavy\u201d before screaming along to her final song, \u201cNight Shift.\u201d As an added gift, Dacus brought out Julien Baker, her partner and self-proclaimed best friend, to sing \u201cBullseye\u201d as they traded cheeky glances. Playing their fifth record, <em>Plans<\/em>, from start to finish on the festival\u2019s final afternoon gave the biggest Death Cab loyalists (including someone with a <em>Transatlanticism<\/em> crow puppet) a well-deserved reward after two stacked days. Even though he stated he could barely talk the morning before their first set, Ben Gibbard\u2019s earnest voice was on point and he shouted out the onsite medical volunteers for getting him back into shape: \u201cThanks to Sabrina and Penny for giving me some steroids,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like I want to fight 100 men right now. The singer-songwriter warped sound in inexplicable and entrancing ways, and his band (including jaw-dropping percussionist Henry Kwapis and multi-instrumentalist Mike Haldeman) bolstered Dijon\u2019s passionate performance. He got the crowd grooving with the early-set song \u201cAnother Baby!\u201d and slowed things down for fan favorite \u201cThe Dress\u201d and the stunning \u201cYamaha.\u201d He ended his performance with an impassioned iteration of <em>Baby <\/em>coda \u201cKindalove,\u201d walking along the stage\u2019s barricade as if caught in a reverie. It\u2019s increasingly difficult to discern when he\u2019s being serious, so when he called Charli XCX to the stage to perform \u201cTake It or Leave It,\u201d it was a shock when she actually appeared, looking like the sixth member of the band.
