\n\tIn light of the devastating earthquake in Colombia Monday\u00a0 morning, many of the country\u2019s biggest stars are calling for support. J Balvin<\/a>, Maluma, Shakira<\/a>, and more are using their platforms to call attention to the aid and recovery efforts.<\/p>\n

\n\tColombia was hit by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake<\/a> where the epicenter was reportedly close to San Jos\u00e9 del Palmar in the Choc\u00f3 department. The effects of the natural disaster were far-reaching, with reports of collapsed buildings, injuries, and deaths in the cities of Cali, Armenia, Manizales, Pereira, and Quibd\u00f3. The reported death toll<\/a> is at least 111.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tSince then, Colombia\u2019s singers and entertainers have expressed words of support for the people affected by this tragedy. In his Instagram stories, J Balvin<\/a> wrote in Spanish, \u201cMuch strength with the situation of the earthquake in Colombia [and] strength to all the people and families affected. We\u2019re going to move quickly to help with the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn his Instagram stories, Maluma also shared a message of strength. In Spanish, he wrote, \u201cIt is heartbreaking, everything that is happening in Colombia, a hug from the heart to all the victims\u2019 families and we\u2019re here to help.\u201d J Balvin, Maluma, Karol G, Ryan Castro, Manuel Turizo, and many other artists have shared a link to donate to an organization called Colombia Se Levanta<\/a>, which is providing support to families affected by the earthquake.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tShakira shared a message about the situation in a post on X. In Spanish, she wrote, \u201cBeloved Colombia, my heart is with everyone who felt this earthquake today and with the families who are going through moments of anguish. In times like these, we Colombians know how to come together and support one another. All my strength and love for my homeland. Let\u2019s embrace tightly and stay tuned to the instructions so we can help as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSome Colombian artists like Juan Duque and Emyl Rusev are even offering their Instagram accounts to post about families looking for loved ones that have disappeared in the earthquake. There\u2019s also a resource page available called Colombia Te Busca<\/a> to help find people that have gone missing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
