Reba McEntire<\/a> jokes that wedding planning with fianc\u00e9 Rex Linn<\/a> is going “not very well” \u2014 but it’s all for good reason.<\/p>\n Not only are the couple juggling busy on-screen careers as co-stars in\u00a0Happy’s Place<\/em>, but they’re also aiming for an elaborate, multi-day ceremony that includes all their family, friends and animals.<\/p>\n The couple haven’t even hinted that they’ve got a date nailed down. On the contrary, McEntire tells\u00a0Entertainment Tonight<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>that their nuptials keep getting pushed back.<\/p>\n “Every time we plan on something, he gets a job, or we get back into the third season [of\u00a0Happy’s Place<\/em>] and hoping for more,”\u00a0<\/i>McEntire explains. “And you can’t plan something that we think is going to be a week or two.”<\/p>\n “It’s not going to be a wedding day, it’s going to have to be three or four days,” she points out.<\/p>\n It sounds like the couple want to make sure that\u00a0veryone<\/em> who’s special to them gets an invite. That includes the many animals in their lives.<\/p>\n “Well, see, not only do we have granddogs, we have long-horned steers. We have donkeys. We have horses. And dogs,” McEntire says. “So it’s going to be a very unusual wedding on the farm.”<\/p>\n McEntire and Linn first met in 1991 on the set of the movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw<\/i>, starring Kenny Rogers<\/a>. McEntire was married to Narvel Blackstock at the time.<\/p>\n She and Linn reconnected in 2020 and began dating via virtual dates over the COVID-19 pandemic. They made their red carpet debut at the CMA Awards that year. In 2024, they both signed on for\u00a0Happy’s Place<\/em>, a new NBC sitcom starring McEntire as a woman who inherits her late father’s bar, only to discover that she has a half-sister she never knew about who will share the bar with her. Linn plays a cook, and eventually, McEntire’s on-screen love interest, too.<\/p>\n McEntire and Linn announced their engagement<\/a> in September 2025, nearly a year after he proposed in late 2024.<\/p>\n She’s said that they didn’t really intend to keep their news a secret. They meant to announce their engagement after the Christmas holiday, but when they returned to Los Angeles, a streak of deadly wildfires hit the city, and\u00a0they felt that celebrating publicly “wasn’t appropriate.”<\/p>\n By the time McEntire and Linn finally make it to the altar, it’s likely that another very special family member will have joined the party.
