\n\tJade<\/a> was a little afraid to shuffle her music library for Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0Song Shuffle<\/a>\u00a0series. Backstage at Lollapalooza<\/a>, the pop phenom admitted she\u2019d only recently discovered the like button on Spotify and described what she\u2019d added so far as \u201cquite eclectic.\u201d It feels almost fated, then, that the first song to play at random from her liked songs library is Little Mix<\/a>\u2019s \u201cDNA.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFor anyone unfamiliar, \u201cDNA\u201d is one of the loudest songs in the history of recorded music. However loud you think it might be, it\u2019s about 200 decibels higher. Jade would know. It\u2019s her voice that sets the stage for the song\u2019s thunderous chorus. \u201cI can\u2019t believe that\u2019s the first song,\u201d Jade said. \u201cWell, obvs I was in it. Love them down. One of the best girl bands ever.\u201d She remembers writing the song fresh out of school, before her brain had a chance to switch over from academics to full-blown pop stardom. She used her textbook to help come up with the lyrics.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tJade admittedly has some skips when it comes to listening to Little Mix. \u201cThere\u2019s a song called \u2018Oops\u2019 that I despise, so I skip that),\u201d she said. \u201cBlack Magic\u201d is also hit or miss, but only because she prefers the demo version recorded by the songwriter Kamille. \u201cNot many people know this,\u201d Jade said. \u201cThe original demo actually only<\/em> had Kamille on it. She was like the fifth member of Little Mix.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThe next song in the shuffle is also close to home: \u201cIt Girl\u201d from Jade\u2019s debut solo album, That\u2019s Showbiz Baby! <\/a><\/em>\u201cYou\u2019ve got to be your biggest fan,\u201d she said, keeping any narcissism allegations at bay. \u201c\u2018It Girl\u2019 is one of my favorites because it\u2019s ballsy, it\u2019s rude, it\u2019s like a clapback to any men that have done me wrong in the industry.\u201d It was written after her debut solo single, \u201cAngel of My Dreams,\u201d and continued a prominent thread across the album about how she\u2019s processed the highs and lows of the nearly two decades she\u2019s spent in the music industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
