It seems to have worked. On Friday, the group released their first new music since their acrimonious breakup in 2023. Titled \u201cGarage Days,\u201d it\u2019s a callback to their formation as high-school students in Bonilla\u2019s dad\u2019s garage.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Garage Days\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Bf_zgNa5an4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cGarage Days\u201d is a blast of modern-day rock, with elements of U2 in both Montali\u2019s voice and Bonilla\u2019s reverberating guitar. \u201cRun to the place that you feel most understood,\u201d Montali sings, in an above-the-fray keen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s about getting back to the beginning a little bit and just seeing if we can start again and do it for the right reasons. We\u2019re not doing it for the reasons of like, we got to make a living. We\u2019re doing it like we were when we were 16 years old, just sitting around and playing instruments,\u201d says Montali, who is also a member of the band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/fantastic-cat-donnie-takes-the-bus-video-1235502789\/\">Fantastic Cat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tHollis Brown \u2014 who took their name from Bob Dylan\u2019s 1964 song \u201cBallad of Hollis Brown\u201d \u2014\u00a0first reunited back in March for a one-off show at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Until Bonilla showed up onstage, Montali says he didn\u2019t know if was going to happen, even after the pair sat down to clear the air a few weeks earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cWe met, and we had a big fight with just the two of us, no cameras, no people, no nothing.
