\n\tDolly Parton<\/a> shared an update on Friday amid ongoing health issues following the death of her husband, Carl Dean<\/a>, who died in March 2025.<\/p>\n \n\tWhen speaking to People<\/a><\/em>, Parton said, \u201cI am dealing with some health issues that I just didn\u2019t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s not like I haven\u2019t been through hard times with my health,\u201d she said, noting that in the early 1980s she was \u201cdown for several months with female issues.\u201d Parton pointed to today\u2019s \u201c24\/7 world with social media\u201d and how it magnifies every incident in \u201cways it wasn\u2019t years ago.\u201d <\/p>\n \n\tIn true Parton fashion, she quipped, \u201cI used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I\u2019m the Queen of Social Media AI!\u201d On a more serious note, she added, \u201cEven though I\u2019m still healin\u2019, I\u2019m still workin\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tParton told the outlet that she\u2019s also looking at ways to bring fans new experiences. The singer said that she\u2019s currently working with companies to create \u201cavatar performances\u201d and they are still in the \u201cearly stages of development.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOn Thursday, Parton\u00a0appeared virtually to accept the Poet\u2019s Award at the Academy of Country Music Awards<\/a>, one of\u00a0multiple recent events\u00a0<\/a>the country legend joined remotely (she was never scheduled to attend the ACM Honors to appear in person).<\/p>\n
