Abot recently compiled a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TexansForAbbott\/posts\/pfbid02DXR657R47sZZ3VF3btyWnBjns21GcQuQEBCZkV5p9N12kCm7CBG5MSDiRDYPEESPl\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TexansForAbbott\/posts\/pfbid02DXR657R47sZZ3VF3btyWnBjns21GcQuQEBCZkV5p9N12kCm7CBG5MSDiRDYPEESPl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">list of songs<\/a> that mention Texas in their titles. But some glaring typos and a transparent bid to appear trendy made the finished product the musical equivalent of the Steve Buscemi \u201cHow do you do, fellow kids?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-news\/steve-buscemi-30-rock-meme-halloween-costume-1251242\/\">meme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFor starters? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ella-langley\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ella-langley\" data-tag=\"ella-langley\">Ella Langley<\/a>, the singer of the most popular song in the nation, \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d is known here as \u201cElla Langely.\u201d Sure, she hails from Alabama, but simply searching it up would tell Abutt or his staff how to properly spell the name of the vocalist behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/ella-langley-choosin-texas-song-of-the-summer-2026-1235598551\/\">song of the summer<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tEven more egregious are a pair of artists who actually have Texas roots: the Seventies country singer Moe Bandy and the Grammy-nominated chill-rock trio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/khruangbin-the-universe-smiles-upon-you-interview-1235459472\/\">Khruangbin<\/a>. The former hails from San Antonio and is represented on Abit\u2019s playlist as \u201cMoe Brandy,\u201d while the latter was born of the Houston music scene. Somehow, the group\u2019s name is both garbled as \u201cKrugbhagin\u201d and also shoehorned into the title of the song they actually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/khruangbin-leon-bridges-texas-sun-video-958803\/\">recorded with Leon Bridges<\/a>. Asking Siri to play \u201cTexas Sun Krugbhagin\u201d just ain\u2019t gonna compute, Guv. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAbbyt\u2019s playlist also includes BigXThaPlug\u2019s swaggering \u201cTexas,\u201d which opens with the boast: \u201c<em>Ay bitch, I\u2019m from Texas, where we still ride in swangas and put diamonds in our necklace<\/em>.\u201d Yes, exactly the kind of lyric we can imagine being championed by the same politician who signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/texas-senate-bill-10-commandments-school-1234721156\/\">bill requiring<\/a> the Ten Commandments be displayed in public schools.
