But the band hadn\u2019t played live in years, as the drummer had retired in December 2015. The band has since regrouped with drummer Anika Nilles for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-live-reviews\/rush-tour-review-anika-nilles-new-drummer-neil-peart-1235573924\/\">stunning comeback tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cComing back at this age, your fear is that you can\u2019t do it anymore, and you\u2019re going to be a compromised version of yourself, and I don\u2019t want that,\u201d Lee recently told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/rush-interview-full-cover-story-geddy-alex-1235613154\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThat\u2019s why Neil retired. He retired because he refused to show anything but his very best in public.
