Stella Parton<\/strong> is asking people to show \u201cmore compassion\u201d following the death of her sister Dolly Parton<\/a>, while also acknowledging the painful insensitivity she and her family have faced since the country music icon’s death.<\/p>\n The 77-year-old singer-songwriter addressed the situation in a lengthy social media post Friday (Sept. 4)<\/a>, thanking those who have offered \u201cgenuine\u201d support while acknowledging the difficult attention that has come with grieving such a public loss. She said Dolly \u201cwould be surprised and delighted by the love her family and she has been shown<\/a>\u201d since her death.<\/p>\n She loved her fans and the public in general. That is the reason she chose not to express her opinions on a lot of things like politics, religion, and individuals in the public eye.
