\n\tPhoebe Bridgers<\/a> talked about making her acting debut in Primetime<\/em> on Saturday when the Robert Pattinson-starring film<\/a> premiered at the Venice International Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the press conference for the film \u2014 based on To Catch a Predator<\/em> and its host Chris Hansen \u2014 it was revealed that Bridgers and Primetime<\/em> director Lance Oppenheim were already friends prior to filming; Oppenheim recently helmed Bridgers\u2019 video for \u201cLost Boys<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen it came to casting the role, Oppenheim mentioned Bridgers to Pattinson. \u201cI didn\u2019t even know Lance and Phoebe were friends,\u201d Pattinson said at the press conference (via Variety<\/em><\/a>). \u201cWhen [Oppenheim] suggested her, I was like \u2018Phoebe Bridgers?<\/em>\u00a0Why don\u2019t we just get the queen?\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was certainly super intimidating and when Lance asked me, I was like, \u2018No way,\u2019\u201d Bridgers added. \u201cBut it turns out, working with incredible people actually makes it way easier. I thought I was going to wither with all of these guys. Instead, it was just like so fun and free.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBridgers said of acting for the first time. \u201cI just trusted Lance. He made it feel like a documentary in a really fun way\u2026 I just couldn\u2019t get over, how do you read something on a script and then act like you\u2019re thinking of it in that moment?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPattinson also applauded Bridgers\u2019 performance as one of the To Catch a Predator<\/em> decoys. \u201cShe\u2019s unbelievable,\u201d he said. \u201cEven on the first day, she was so relaxed. She didn\u2019t seem nervous at all. She completely got the tone, and it\u2019s a relatively difficult movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOppenheim, who was friends with Bridgers before she became a famous musician, previously talked about casting the musician in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve always known her to have an incredibly deep, almost baritone speaking voice, and I was then amazed that someone who had such a deep speaking voice could produce this beautiful, angelic singing voice,\u201d Oppenheim said. \u201cWith how she\u2019s able to use her voice in different environments, I kept thinking, \u2018That\u2019s exactly what a decoy would do.\u2019 I remember texting her like, \u2018This is so random, but I think you are perfect for this part,\u2019 and she responded, \u2018I don\u2019t really act, I\u2019ve never done it, I don\u2019t know how.\u2019\u202f\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
