The German composer Max Richter<\/a> has a new album on the way. While the Flood Rages<\/em> arrives October 16 and features 15 tracks taken from his score of MaddAddam<\/em>, a ballet inspired by a trilogy of post-apocalyptic Margaret Atwood novels. The standalone album deals with themes of technological acceleration, ecological crisis, and human connection. The full tracklist isn\u2019t available yet, but you can listen to the reflective first single, \u201cNow We Can Sing,\u201d below.<\/p>\n

MaddAddam<\/em> marks Richter\u2019s third collaboration with choreographer Wayne McGregor, following 2017\u2019s Three Worlds: Music From Woolf Works<\/a>,<\/em> and 2010\u2019s Infra<\/em><\/a>. More recently, Richter has stayed busy working on his solo catalog, with 2024\u2019s In a Landscape<\/em><\/a> and 2022\u2019s The New Four Seasons – Vivaldi Recomposed<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n
