Bruce Springsteen<\/a> explained why fans waiting for the album he\u2019d told them about will have to wait a little longer.<\/p>\n

He\u2019d previously said a record would arrive in 2026, but as the year approaches its final quarter, there\u2019s no sign of a release date.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, Springsteen revealed: \u201cI\u2019m currently working on a couple of records. I did finish one\u2026 it is done. I\u2019m in the process of working on this other one, which, because of the nature of the material, felt like it should come out first.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that\u2019s the situation I\u2019m in. I\u2019m trying to finish that up, and I\u2019d like to release that first. And then this other record that I made, which is not time-relevant, it can come out at any time and it\u2019ll work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked if the completed record featured the E Street Band<\/a>, he replied: \u201cIt\u2019s a surprise!\u201d He added that, while he had no launch date, the music would arrive \u201chopefully sooner than later, of course.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Boss just released a live video titled Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour (Philadelphia Freedom Cut)<\/em>, which consists of seven songs from a concert in May. He explained that he didn\u2019t want to wait until the full movie was ready.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole thing, the pop-up tour, was about immediacy and being in this moment, providing something that I felt an audience, my audience, could use in this moment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Bruce Springsteen Likes Playing Shorter Tours Now<\/h3>\n

\u201cAnd so as soon as I saw it, I said, \u2018This comes out now.\u2019 Everybody said, \u2018Well, what do we do with the rest?\u2019 I said, \u2018[W]e\u2019ll serialize it.\u2019 \u2026 You\u2019ll be getting seven songs or so in four different compartments, and at the end of the day, you\u2019ll have the whole show.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to say that he\u2019d become more interested in doing shorter tours rather than the mammoth road trips of previous years. \u201cI would like to go out and do 20, 30 shows,\u201d he reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t imagine a 140-show E Street tour will happen again. It\u2019s just, time is too short right now. But I do imagine a good series of simply shorter tours where we touch different places at different times.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the band is playing so well. In my opinion, if you saw this show, you saw one of the best shows we\u2019ve ever done. The band is playing so well that we have a happy life there, and that\u2019ll continue.\u201d<\/p>\n
