Corella<\/strong> released new album A Beautiful Way to Lose<\/em> on September 18.<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s a decent record for an indie punk sound. It\u2019s a sound I\u2019m not usually too much of a fan of but I quite enjoyed this.<\/span><\/p>\n The guitars to open the record in Rewire<\/em> are quite nice and rocky, and the vocals are a cross between Arctic Monkeys<\/strong> and Oasis<\/strong> in style.<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s the Use<\/em> and Lost a Friend<\/em> were the standout tracks for me. They\u2019re more melancholy and show off Joel Smith\u2019s<\/strong> vocals, which particularly in the latter, are similar to Will Ghould<\/strong> from Creeper\u2019s<\/strong> and this really pulled me in alongside the more ethereal sound. It\u2019s a very relatable song.<\/span><\/p>\n We get some more cool riffs and basslines at the start of Wolf<\/em> and I love the lyrics, they come across as very uplifting about making the kingdom yours and overachieving.<\/span><\/p>\n The synths on the lyrics \u2018all I ever wanted<\/em>\u2019 in Thunder Strike<\/em> were timed perfectly as they sounded almost like they were singing the lines in a higher pitch, it worked well and really stood out. <\/span><\/p>\n If you like the more indie punk side of rock, then you really should listen to Corrella<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n There\u2019s strong vocals, some lovely drums holding everything together, cool synths understated bass lines and slick guitars.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
